These are a few of my favorite locations and also some of my fellow friends at Juniper Acres in Central Oregon
CAMP HANCOCK is a year round educational center owned by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). The Rose City Astronomers (RCA) have a special relationship with OMSI to allow star parties to be held on their premises twice a year in the spring and fall. In addition, RCA astronomers volunteer time, and telescope during certain educational sessions throughout the year. Camp Hancock lies in the North Central area of Oregon at 1500 ft elevation. It has dark skies and generally stable air after the sun sets. It is approximately 3 hours from Portland OR.
OREGON STAR PARTY site at Indian trail spring east of Prineville OR. This star Party is held in late summer. The location is at 5000 ft elevation, very dark and the air is generally stable. A prime site for astrophotography . Four hours from Portland
SUNGLOW GUEST RANCH located in Pearce AZ lies at 5000 ft and 32 degrees latitude. Very dark skies and very good air. Outstanding site for astrophotography.
JUNIPER SKY is a privately owned site east of Bend Oregon in Juniper acres adjacent to Marieth It has very dark skies, sits at 3900 ft elevation and the weather is generally dry with very stable air. A prime site for astrophotography. Four hours from Portland.
DEEP SKY HERMITAGE is my good friend Jim Jackson's Astronomy location also located in Juniper acres.
