Located in Taft Avenue, Ermita, the University of the Philippines Manila is dubbed the Health Sciences Center of the country and is the premier academic institution of the Philippines in health care study and application.
UP Manila, however, also has non-medical programs under it. With the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), general education subjects (such as humanities, history and social sciences, and natural sciences and mathematics)
are provided to students of the health-oriented colleges, as well as degrees to its own students. As a whole, however, UP
Manila focuses on health care study, research, and extension service.
There are three sub-sections here. Broadly discussing about the organization and function of the UP System and UP Manila
are under the University Level pages. The second set of pages is about the individual degree-granting units of the University,
with each page discussing - where possible - brief history, organization, functions and achievements. The third set of
pages deals with major non-degree granting units that provide significant support to the academic units and fulfills other
roles of the University, mainly research and extension services.
Each page would provide - whenever possible - a link to the unit's official website.
As of this this period, there are VERY few information on the pages in this section. Rest assured, however, that this
section would be updated. We do recognize the need of visitors for information on the Campus.
