Cadet Lieutenant Ricky V Bulalakaw, First Class, Commanding Officer, Kampilan Battle Group (COKBG), spearheaded the activity. Markahan was part of the Marches and Bivouac activity, called Implan Fortress Markahan, which started 16 December.

The Battle Group had their initial assembly point in HNCRRCDG, Fort Bonifacio, at 16 1500H December. The proceeded with their obstacle course, after which was their setting up of tents.

By 0400H the next day, all cadets were up. By 0500H, the transport buses were ready for departure. They arrived at the drop-off point by 0900H.
The KBG and SSG (Service Support Group) marched off around two kilometers to the battle area.

However, before Cokbg and the Commandant, Captain Loreto B Villacarlos (Ordnance Service) PA, gave their welcoming message, a squad of special operations (KBGOS) units tested the readiness of the Battle Group for the engagement.

Twelve teams vied for the championship, which employed single-elimination process. Excess Squad’s last opponent was the Nokia 8210 Squad, wherein Excess Squad played the Attacking Team while the Excess Squad played Nokia 8210 on the defense.

The members of the Excess Squad are CSgt Alison Perez 3Cl, CCpl Francis Paraan 3Cl, CSgt Paolo Papillero 3Cl, CSgt Jeffrey Lozada, CSgt Norman Louie Trinidad 4Cl, CPvt Danilo Pesinio 4Cl, CPvt Tristan Bandoma 4Cl, and CSgt Jasper Obico 3Cl.

After winning against the Nokia 8210 Squad, the Excess Squad tried to fight against a unit of superior number, the KBGOS. Cokbg allowed for a 10-minute planning for the Excess Squad, which played the Attacking Team. The Attackers were not able to penetrate the Defenders within the 20-minute time limit.

Also present in the activity were Anne Michelle Cruz, Corps Sponsor and also a previous sponsor of the unit; and Annaliza Ong, Deputy Corps Sponsor. SSG was attached to KBG for the activity.

It will be noted that the Battle Group have had some serious preparation for the activity, which included at least two extended training days for lectures, Oplan Pagsasanay, and some other extra activities done for physical fitness.
The champions will receive 15 merits, while all those who attended will receive 10 merits. The activity had been the fifth training day of KBG, and will count as a graded exam.
