- Arescom - Army Reserve Command; in UPM ROTC context, actually refers to the HNCRRCDG, Fort Bonifacio.
- Admin – Frequently, refers both to non-Sunday light duty and regular training day Admin Section cadets of SSU, since
both are under the Service Support Unit.
- Break Order – Mineral water, ordered during breaks; the only nourishment during a regular 5-hour training day.
- CC – Corps Commander
- CO – Generally, Cadet Officer; in some limited instances, they may mean 'commanding officer'.
- COC – Corps of Cadets; Cadet Officer Candidate
- COKBG – Commanding Officer, Kampilan Battle Group
- COS – Corps of Sponsors
- DMST - Department of Military Science and Tactics; the University unit which handles the ROTC training in the University
organization. This department is not subordinated to any other academic unit, such as college or schools, but should be directly
under a University-level office, such as Academic Affairs.
- Ex-O – Executive Officer; second in command in absence of Corps Commander
- First Sergeant - starting with the Corps of 2001, the referrence to the NCOs were made proper. Thus, the company sergeant
was referred properly as "first sergeant," as opposed to the sergeant major of a battalion.
- G1 – Personnel officer of the Corps
- G2 – Intelligence officer of the Corps
- G3 – Operations officer of the Corps
- G4 – Logistics officer of the Corps
- G7 – Civil Military Operations (CMO) officer of the Corps; also, primary liaison officer of the Corps.
- GT - Graded Test, which composes 40 percent of a cadet's grade. Passing rate is 80 percent.
- HANDR - Horizontal Attendance and Delinquency Report, a horizontal table indicating a unit's performance in a semester.
Includes attendance for a training semester, delinquency report for each training day, graded test performance, and final
grade computations.
- HNCRRCDG - Headquarters, National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group, the "mother unit" to which Metropolitan
Manila ROTC units are under.
- KBG – Kampilan Battle Group
- MP – Military Police
- NCO – Non-Commissioned Officer; between cadets and cadet officers, these are to refer to cadet NCOs. When talking
with DMST personnel and organic PA personnel, NCOs are to refer to soldier NCOs.
- Poop Sheet - Lecture sheets
- POS – Presentation of Sponsors (not Parade of).
- RAW – ROTC Awareness Week
- RAYA – Short for Rayadillo unit
- RBNC – Rayadillo Battalion Commander
- RTU - "Request of Transfer of Unit" or "Return to Unit"
- S - A staff position designating it below the Corps level, particularly, the battalion, with functions similar to those
of the Corps.
- Sergeant Major - primary NCO in a battalion or in the Cadet Regiment.
- SF - Strike Force, Kampilan Battle Group's special operations team and urban guerrilla warfare specialist.
- SSU – Service Support Unit
- THRHG – The Great Rayadillo Honor Guards, the old name of the Rayadillo unit in UP Diliman
- TOC/TOP – Turnover of Command/ Parade
- Transpo – Transportation section cadets
- VANDR - Vertical Attendance and Delinquency Report, a tabular listing of cadets that indicate if they have or have not
been present in one of the three attendance checks during a training day.
- Vanguard - a member of UP ROTC's alumni organization, the UP Vanguard, Inc.
