Enlistment Requirements

There are a number of things you would be required when you enlist in ROTC (e.g., 10 sheets of short coupon bond, 2 pieces of 2" x 2" black and white picture, etc.), but those are not the ones which allow you to enlist in any of the units. Here, you would find what is required of a cadet enlistee if he were to apply for a unit.

Regular Units

Rayadillo
  • At least 5'6" in height
  • No physical ailments (e.g., balance, heart problems, etc.)
  • Willing to undergo extra-TD training (for special formations and special drills)
  • Cadet must be willing to render service on a 48-hour warning for Cadet Corps activities.
Kampilan
  • Interest in light infantry combat operations
  • Willing to undergo unconventional methods of training
Military Police
  • At least 5'6" in height, with above-average physique
  • Willing to undergo Military Police Training by the Corps Provost Marshall
  • Willing to buy the extra-uniform articles for the position
Medic
  • At least 5'6" in height
  • Working knowledge of first aid and basic life support
  • Certification of membership/volunteer from the Philippine National Red Cross
  • Willing to undergo training in Military Life Support by the Commander, Headquarters and Service Support Company.
Transportation Unit
  • Must have a motorized vehicle with no less than four passengers (excluding the cadet-driver; the cadet cannot have a driver other than himself)
  • Vehicle to be used must have UP Manila sticker
  • Vehicle to be used must have insurance
  • Vehicle to be used cannot be a government vehicle
  • Cadet has non-student driver's license
  • Knowledgeable in Metro Manila areas and routes.
  • Cadet must be willing to render service on a 48-hour warning for Cadet Corps activities.
Signal Communication/Radio
  • Must have multi-channel transceiver
  • Cadet recharges the radio unit before the training day and assures that the unit would be functioning throughout the duration of the training day
  • Cadet must be willing to render service on a 48-hour warning for Cadet Corps activities.
Research and Special Studies (Cadence)
  • Experience in journalism and technical writing
  • Must have passed the Cadence application interview by the Corps G7
  • Willing to shell out money for the ROTC Publication or other unit functional expenses
  • Willing to be called on 48-hour notice for Cadet Corps activities
 

Special Units and Schools

  • Graduates of this course would become the cadet officers who would lead the cadets and manage the Corps. They would become platoon leaders, company commanders, battalion commanders and staff. Advance Cadet Officers would train in the Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) training schools. If successful, an Advance ROTC cadet might opt to enrol either in Officer Candidate School (OCS) or Probationary Officers' Training Course for Reserve Commission in the Philippine Army.
  • At least 5'6" in height
  • Willing to undergo extra-TD training (including overnight for lectures and night operations training)
  • Not a member of any fraternity or activist student organization
Cadet Non-Commissioned Officer Training Course (CNCOTC)
  • Graduates of this course would become cadet NCOs who would assist cadet officers in leading the cadets and managing the Corps. They would primarily be the squad leaders, platoon seargeants, company first sergeants, or battalion sergeant majors.
  • Willing to undergo extra-TD training (including overnight for lectures and night operations training)
Strike Force
  • Physically fit
  • Willing to undergo night training
  • Willing to undergo non-Sunday training
  • Willing to participate in extra-TD activities, particularly in exposure and demonstration activities
  • Understanding of leadership responsibilities.
