Sheet Bend
Used to Connect Two Lines

This knot is also known as the Becket Bend when used to join a rope that has an eye spliced in one end.

This knot does not jam, but might slip in synthetic ropes.  Take an extra turn around the standing part--with the white rope shown below-- to make it more secure.
