The Reeves Pulley Company gas engines were manufactured in Columbus, Indiana from early 1911 thru July 1915. Approximately
900 engines per year were manufactured starting with serial number 3000 for the first three years than tapered off to about
450 per year the last year and a half. At the end of 1914, as production slowed, the gas engine business was beginning to
be phased out. Sizes ranged from 1 HP to 12 HP. The 2 HP was the most popular. There was a 16 HP advertised but no evidence
that one was actually ordered. Early in the production, (3000-4000 s/n range) the bores on the 2 HP size were 3 1/2 in. Later
they were increased to 3 3/4 in. bore. Two 12 HP engines are known to have survived.
