cabin cruiser, despite its unfortunate tendency to dislocate its drive shaft at inconvenient times, necessitating long swims for help. Vichai personally arranged several long-distance reconnaisances for us, and was a prime mover in club activities until a serious automobile accident put him out of action for several months. Back on his feet now, albeit with crutches, he will join our trips, we hope, soon again.
SCUBA diving suffered for the first few months from a lack of qualified instructors to train new recruits. The arrival of U.S. Army Captain Bob Skelton and British engineer Alan Josey, both of whom volunteered for instructor duty immediately on joining the club, enabled us to begin regular pool and open-water training sessions, through which a dozen divers have passed to date.
