about me

I became a doula and childbirth educator because of the profound experience I had giving birth to my first child. I was trained and certified through Doulas of North America (DONA) and as childbirth educator, I have advanced training with Pam England, creator of Birthing From Within. I am currently dual-enrolled in the Womancraft midwifery program and the National College of Midwifery. Attending international birth and midwifery conferences, I have studied with Ina May Gaskin and Michel Odent and have learned labor techniques such as rebozo and massage. I am certified in infant CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation and I am a Reiki II practioner. I lived in Denmark and am familiar with birth practices outside of America. I have experience with VBAC, birth centers, hospitals and homebirths. I bring passion and experience to a birth as a doula, mother, childbirth educator, artist, student midwife, and activist. Before entering the birth world, I worked as a film writer, director and cameraperson. I have a Masters of Fine Arts from Columbia University. I live in Brooklyn with my husband and two children.
