Throughout the South, many methods were used to collect pine resin for the Naval Stores Industry.
The terra-cotta cup, known as a Herty or Daisy Fluted cup was patented in 1903 and used in isolated turpentine camps of Florida,
Georgia and South Carolina. Workers in these camps developed a distinctive language, culture and economy. All of our Herty
cups are originals, not reproductions.
