W.R.DAFFIN DIES IN ATLANTA-BODY IS INTERRED HERE

The body of William R. DAFFIN, who died in Atlanta at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, was

brought to Opelika Sunday afternoon and carried to the home of Mrs. J. L. Dean,

where it remained until 10:30 this morning, when funeral service was held from

Presbyterian church. ,,,,,Mr. DAFFIN was a citizen of Opelika many years, engaging in the retail grocery business here. He went to Atlanta about three or four years ago, when his health failed, and die at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.P. Dunn. Apoplexy was given as the cause of death. Mr. DAFFIN was 75 years of age.  Deceased moved to Opelika from Florida. During his many years residence here he always took an active part in church affairs, being one of the pillows of the local Presbyterian church, as well as one of Opelikas pioneer citizens. Mr. DAFFIN at all times held the highest respect and esteem of

his fellow citizens. He had a delicate sense of honor, and his occasions (?) much

regret among the legion of friends who reside here.

Deceased is survived by three daughters: Mrs. W. P. Nunn, Atlanta; Mrs. Annie

Perryman, West Palm Beach, Florida; Mrs. Robert Gann, Long Island, N. Y. Also

four grandchildren: William Perryman, Atlant; Mrs. Eadson, Atlanta; Mrs. Lila Estes, Newman, and Elizabeth Whately, Atlanta.

Dr. R.M. Mann, pastor of Presbyterian church, officiated at funeral service, and

interment was made in Rosemere cemetery.
