RECENT BRIGADE ACTIVITIES
Turners joined hundreds of other parade participants in marching in the Veterans' Day Parade held November 7 in downtown St. Louis.
Turners joined Gen. Grant's forces in attacking the Confederate camp at Belmont in a reenactment at Columbus-Belmont State Park in Columbus, Kentucky, on October 10-11.
Turners joined Gen. Grant's forces in repulsing Confederate attacks at Shiloh in a reenactment at White Hall, Illinois, on October 3-4.
The Turner Brigade was the host unit at a reenactment at Fort Zumwalt Park in O'Fallon, Missouri, on September 12-13.
Three guns of Company M, manned by members from throughout the Brigade, once again participated in the annual patriotic-themed concerts presented by the Compton Heights Concert Band on June 28 and 29, 2009, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Twenty-three Turner Brigade members were joined by 36 other Union and Confederate cannoneers for an artillery safety school conducted by representatives of the National Civil War Artillery Association on June 27, 2009, at Jefferson Barracks County Park in south St. Louis County, Missouri. NCWAA Chairman-Elect Ethan Barnett, Secretary-Elect Suzannah Hicks and Todd Kiscaden of Virginia, assisted by Sons of Veterans Reserve Gen. Charles Corfman of Ohio, provided the latest information on artillery drill safety and procedures as recommended by the NCWAA.
Brigade members returned to Jacksonville, Illinois, for the the annual "Grierson Days" reenactment held June 20-21, 2009.
Turner companies battled rebel forces at the annual event at Pittsfield, Illinois, June 6-7, 2009.

Turner Brigade members joined the Sons of Union Veterans and other veterans' groups in Memorial Day ceremonies on May 25, 2009 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in south St. Louis County, Mo.
