RECENT BRIGADE ACTIVITIES

BRIGADE MEMBERS HONOR GEN. SHERMAN AT CALVARY CEMETERY

Several Brigade members joined the members of the William T. Sherman/Billy Yank Camp #65 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War to commemorate the birth and death of Gen. William T. Sherman at his gravesite in Calvary Cemetery in north St. Louis on February 24, 2002. Members of Companies E and G marched with others in the honor guard and fired volleys as part of the ceremony. Company M's gun Number 1, manned by Brigade members from Companies E, G, K, and M, fired salutes. Doug R. Niermeyer presented an address on "General Sherman and the Grand Army of the Republic Post No. 131".

Brigade members, including Cpl. Bill Baehr of Company G, center, joined other members of the William T. Sherman/Billy Yank Camp #65 and other reenactors in the honor guard.
