The Internet has vast resources for the Civil War reenactor. A very few of them are listed below: Reference The Civil War Artillery Page The top source for information on all types of Civil War artillery. 17th Missouri--The Western Turner Regiment Dedicated to the memory of the 17th Missouri Infantry Library of Congress--Civil War Photographs The definitive source for Civil War photos. The Geschichtstheatergesellschaft 1848 e. V. A German Living History Society focusing on the European 1848/1849 Revolutions, and the role of "Forty-Eighters" in the American Civil War. The German-American Songbook is especially worthwhile, and also the reprint of the Camp Chase Gazette article about how to portray a German immigrant soldier. Civil War St. Louis A fascinating review of information about a turbulent time in a divided city, this site presents history from both northern and southern viewpoints. The Missouri Civil War Museum A bi-partisan St. Louis group has undertaken a project to create a major museum about the Civil War in Missouri in a historic building in the Jefferson Barracks complex in south St. Louis County. The Official Records of the War of the Rebellion is the primary source of Civil War research. Two of the online versions can be found on ehistory.com, which has a transcribed version, and at the Cornell University site, which displays images of the book pages, although it is still searchable. U.S. Regulars Archive has online versions of key Civil War manuals, including Casey's, Hardee's, Hunt's, Gibbon's, and Cooke's and more.

Organizations Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Several Turner members with ancestors who served the Union are also SUVCW members. Missouri Commandery, Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States MOLLUS has considerable reference material on Missouri units.
Publications Civil War Historian A new glossy color magazine featuring quality content on military and civilian material culture, preservation, and historical topics. Camp Chase Gazette A long-established magazine for Civil War reenactors. The Watchdog The "Consumer Reports" of reenacting guides you to better authenticity. Civil War Reenactments Illustrated A regional publication, featuring lots of reenactment photos by photographer Ruben Gusman of Kansas City.
