Captains Charles and Patricia Niedermyer
Captain Charles Niedermyer
Psalm 37 reads,
“Trust in the Lord and do good…Delight yourself in the Lord….Commit your
ways to the Lord….Be still before the Lord.” There is of course
profound wisdom and comfort found throughout the Bible. However, these
verses continue to speak to my heart and guide me as a man of faith, as
husband and wife of thirty-five years, and as a father of five children and
(I must say smiling proudly) eight grand children! People often asked
me, how are “things” going? And of course, there are days I must confess
that I struggle to find a positive answer. Yet I declare today to you, “I am
a blessed man!” Blessed to know the Lord! Blessed to have a loving and
supportive family! Blessed to have a circle of friends! Yes, blessed to
serve in State College, PA.
Captain Patricia Niedermyer
Ministry is my mission! My
life focus has always been to minister to people so they would see God's
gospel in action. As a mother of five children and grandmother of eight,
I find showing the love of Jesus is my heart's desire to our family and
our extended family in the Corps... and of course to the world. I choose
the Salvation Army as my life's work because "Soap, Soup, and Salvation"
just about sums up what I want to do and who I am. "3Praise
be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in
all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the
comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the
sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ
our comfort overflows" (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).
Ms. Ellen Mayer
The Salvation Army of State College employees one full-time
Case-Manager. Ellen wholeheartedly serves the people who daily come into the
offices of the Salvation Army. She often says, "This is my God job!"
Therefore, she serves the Lord, and those at-risk in the greater State
College area.
