AFGHANISTAN DELAYS ELECTIONS

The gist of this branch of inquiry is that the US-sponsored Afghan elections have been delayed more than once.  You may recall the murder of a busload of people who had registered.  There are many other problems too.  One source has said that the election, currently scheduled for October, may have to be delayed until after our election.  Something abt campaign financing? 

Of Afghanistan's eligible voters, only a third are registered, and the registration process for political parties and nomination of candidates are even further behind schedule.
