INTEMP

Inverse Heat Conduction

Combining Measurements with Detailed Finite Element Models

INTEMP will combine temperature measurements with detailed models to optimally estimate the applied heat fluxes. In addition, INTEMP will estimate all of the temperatures in the model. The thermal models may be constructed using one or two dimensional finite elements, lumped capacitance-thermal resistance networks or a combination of both. The data are input as the temperature-time histories at any number of nodes. INTEMP then solves for the unknown flux-time histories at any number of specified locations. The element library includes 1-D elements, 2-D triangles and quadrilaterals, both planar and axisymmetric. Material properties can vary with temperature, can be orthotropic, and can vary for each element.
