A Novel Method for Connecting Dissimilar Finite Element Meshes

A frequent problem in thermal analysis is to connect separate finite element models of components through a surface contact resistance or to directly couple dissimilar meshes of such components. In this paper, a method for connecting independently constructed 3D finite element conduction models is presented.
