Code of Ethics
Prospect HS fully supports the following Central Coast Section/CIF sportsmanship guidelines:
The CIF definition of individual sportsmanship is "a person who can take a loss or defeat without complaint or victory
without gloating, and who treats his opponents with fairness, courtesy, and respect".
With this definition in mind, the CIF has determined that the following behavior is unacceptable at all contests:
* Complaining about officials' call (verbally or in gesture)
* Berating your opponent's school or mascot
* Berating opposing players
* Obscene cheers or gestures
* Negative signs
* Artificial noise makers
This CIF Code of Ethics reminds us that an athletic contest is only a game -- not a matter of life and death for the player,
coach, school, officials, fans, community, state or nation.
