Ed Walsh
Charter Organization Representative

After earning his Second Class as a scout, Ed took a hiatus from scouting. As an adult scouter, he has been heavily involved in scouting at both the unit and district levels. Ed is the Charter Organization Representative for Pack 316 and Troop 316. He was the District Camporee Chief for the Spring Camporee. Ed's recognitions include the Bronze Pelican in 2005, Silver Beaver in 2002, the 2000 District Award of Merit and 1998 District Leadership Citation. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow and Wood Badge trained.

Lloyd Allen

Troop Committee Chairman

Another highly qualified Second Class Scout, Lloyd became the Troop Committee Chairman in 2004. He still consults regularly with his mentor and the past Committee Chairman, Frank Jackson. Troop 316 Committee Chairs are always the parent of an active Scout.

Lloyd is planning to retire from the role of Committee Chairman in August, 2008, when his son ages out, but will remain on the Committee as an assistant to theTreasurer in charge of popcorn and other fund raisers.

Rob and Lloyd are currently serving in the role of Acting Secretary

Rob Ruck

Troop Assistant Committee Chairman

Rob is originally from England, where he was decorated by the
Queen as a Queen's Scout, a position analogous to the USA BSA Eagle rank. Rob has recently agreed to take on the role of Assistant Committee Chairman.

Lloyd and Rob are currently serving in the role of Acting Training Coordinator. Their duties include: ensuring Troop leaders and Committee members have opportunites for training; maintaining an inventory of up-to-date training materials, videos, and resources; schedule Fast Start training for all new leaders; being responsible for Youth Protection Training for the Troop; encouraging periodic youth training within the Troop.

Bob Harrison

Troop Chaplain

Bob earned his Eagle Scout and was very active as a Boy Scout. He was a lifeguard and completed his mile swim, and he went to Philmont as a youth. As an adult leader, he has completed his Wilderness First Aid training. Bob returned to Philmont in 2005 and was an advisor for Crew 702-R1 Bob is now serving Troop 316 as our Chaplain. Bob is a member of Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church.

David Kuehr-McLaren

Troop Advancement Coordinator

David took over from Barb Lang last year and has the following
responsibilities: encouraging Scouts to advance in rank; working with the Troop Scribe to maintain all Scout advancement records; arranging quarterly Boards of Review and biannually Courts of Honor; working with the Troop Librarian to maintain the MB workbooks; and aiding in the Troop Library

Claudia Klavon

Troop Outdoor & Activities Coordinator

Claudia is a key member of the troop committee who organizes the logistics for our troop trips. She is also very involved with Pack 316. In 2003, Claudia's dedication to scouting was acknowledged with a Distinguished Leadership Citaiion. Claudia's duties include: securing permission to use camping sites; coordinating transportation; and promoting a monthly outdoor program.

Joe Fitzpatrick
Troop Publicity Director & Philmont Coordinator

Joe is a retired Air Force Colonel and was an Assistant Scoutmaster when he was stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is the Troop 316 publicity man and the committee member who organized our trip to Philmont in 2005. Joe also served as an advisor for Crew 702-R1. Joe is a counselor for the Ad Altare Dei religous emblem award in our troop. He was recognized by recieving the 2003 Distinguish Leadership Award. Joe is Wood Badge trained and is a member of the Bobwhite patrol in SR-259. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.

Frank Jackson
Troop Treasurer

Frank is an Eagle Scout and served Troop 316 as Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Chairman and Troop Committee member. Frank takes the Twelth Law of Scouting to heart. He is the chairman of the Diocese of Raleigh Catholic Committee on Scouting and a counselor for the Ad Altare Dei religous emblem award in our troop. He was recognized by recieving the Bronze Pelican Award in 2007, Silver Beaver Award in 2005, and a Distinguish Leadership Award in 2000. Frank is Wood Badge trained and is a member of the Phat Foxes patrol in SR-240. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.

Bill Fitzgerald

Troop Equipment Coordinator

Bill's responsibilities include: supervising and helping the Troop procure camping equipment; working with QuarterMaster on inventory and proper storage and maintenance of all Troop equipment; making periodic safety checks of all Troop camping and trailering gear; and encouraging the Troop in the safe use of all outdoor equipment.

Barbara Lang

Troop Merit Badge Counselor Coordinator

As the Merit Badge Counselor Coordinator, Barbara (the Sheriff) is responsible for maintaining the Merit Badge Counselor list; and working with the Troop Librarian to maintain the MB workbooks and aids in the Troop Library. Barabara is the seamstress for all of the troop neckerchiefs which is no small task. Barbara received a Distinguished Leader Citation in 2004 for her service to the troop.

Barbara is also a Religious Emblems counselor fo the Ad Altare Dei program.

The Troop Committe meets on the second Tuesday of every month at St. Andrew the Apostle Church from 7:00 till 8:30pm
