Scouting promises you experiences and duties that will help you mature into a strong, wise adult.

Scouting's Goals....

Boy Scouting works toward 3 Goals:
- Growth in moral strength & character
- Participating in citizenship
- Development of Physical & Mental Fitness, Self-reliance, and Maturity.

Scouting's Methods....

The methods of Boy Scouting are designed to accomplish these aims. Thus it is important that the Troop know and use the methods of Boy Scouting which are time proven. These methods include:
- Scouting Ideals
- Patrol Method
- Outdoor Program
- Scout Advancement
- Adult Association
- Personal Growth
- Leadership Development
- Wearing the Scout Uniform

Youth run program.....

In order to meet the objectives of the Scouting program, the troop provides a group of adult leaders and older Scouts, maintains a training program for all, provides some camping equipment for you to use, and maintains a year-round, all weather camping program.

The entire Scouting program for Troop 316 is developed by the Scouts, reviewed for adherence to BSA policy by the Uniformed Adult Leadership, and approved by the Troop Committee. Every boy is encouraged to participate in every facet of the Troop, and assume positions of leadership. They will serve their patrols and troop as leaders while helping to to plan and carry out the Scouting program.

For every 100 boys who join Boy Scout troop...

-18 will develop hobbies that will last through their adult life
- 8 will enter a career that was learned through the merit badge system
- 12 will have their first contact with a church or synagogue
- 5 will earn their religious emblem
- 1 will enter the clergy
- 1 will use his Boy Scout skills to save a life
- 17 will become Scouting volunteers
- 2 will become Eagle Scouts
