West Greenway

This is an early shot of the "Greenway," about a kilometer past Silverstone's Central City, taken in early March of 1925. The four tracks of "The Greenway" are bordered by oaks eastwards from the Central City, but westwards its four - then two - tracks are bordered by eucalyptus. While the area has been built-up considerably since this picture, the trees remain to this day.

The "inverted L" trolley poles however, once a trademark of S&J trackage, were later found to be too unstable in high winds for the dual tracks and have since been replaced by a more standard "inverted U" set.
