Commiserate the 10th Anniversary of what is now the second-longest running Southern California Disc Golf Association event in the world, the Plastic Pilots Association rolled PDGA-sanctioned competion to a second, temporary course: The now-legendary 21-hole Horseshoe Lake layout.

So Special In 07?

El Dorado Park Disc Golf Course, already the Site of Tier-A, SoCal Championship-level Events, expanded' for the first time to host the El Dorado Open 11!
This season's Competition introduced a SECOND, built-to-suit TEMPORARY [this event only!!!] 21-hole layout, custom-designed by long-time Touring Pro Dan Duron.

....observed in East Regional @ the Horseshoe Lake Area, the Temp Course is just West of the Gabriel River, just West of the 605 Freeway, and directly North of Spring Street; a two-minute drive, 5-minute ride, or 15-20 minute walk.

What'd This Mean?

Because competition was split over the two courses, each course hosted ONLY [!] 2 rounds on Saturday, and JUST one round on Sunday[!!] [ as opposed two X 3 rounds/day, as per 2005 & 2006 ].

....everything was a lot less-harried, and slower-paced, as there were plenty of 5-somes, due to the perennial HIGH demand for entrance to the event.

.....AND?!?

Everybody played 2 different courses!!

....Pros played now-legendary 'Horseshoe' twice and 'Eldo' once. Amateurs competed twice over 'locally world famous' El Dorado Park DGC, and once @ Horseshoe Lake, after Lunch.

Horseshoe Directory

....lunch was served on Saturday between rounds at the permanent course, by Mark Duron, Dan's Sister, and Mark Duron, Dan's Brother....I cannot express how much this means to theOpen 11 Event and to ME, slo, the Event's Director, to know People will be treated to such a Feast, and with nothing more asked by Mark and Barbara than our Thanks......it is truly magnificent; beautiful, giving, and amazing.
