A COVENANT WITH DEATH AND AN AGREEMENT WITH HELL
Isaiah 24:4-6 & 28:15-18
The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
It is my very deep desire that you would read this, any and all within the sound of my voice, and soberly consider the truth of what I am saying. My reason for this letter, is to expose the LIE called once saved always saved, when you were never really saved from anything at all! I also intend to encourage my brothers & sisters to walk in the fear of God and a fear and trembling at his Word. I would also like to challenge popularly held ideas, about what is means to become a Christian.
Who in their right mind would make a covenant with death and an agreement with hell? Who in their right mind would say, we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves? The answer is, no one ever did, not verbally anyway! It would be crazy to admit to lies being your refuge, wouldn't it? Yet there are very dangerous lies being told today, that many people make their refuge. I will expose some of these lies and tell you that the ONLY refuge and security is to be found in Jesus, a Righteous and Holy God that cannot lie and is able to deliver you and save your soul from the evil of this troublesome time we live in.
ANY FAITH OTHER THAN THE FAITH TAUGHT BY JESUS AND HIS DISCIPLES, IS A FALSE FAITH AND A COVENANT OR AGREEMENT WITH SOMETHING OTHER THAN JESUS.
A Faith by definition is simply the things you don't see, that you believe and receive, as though you do see them. If you agree that the outcome of your OTHER faith gets you into heaven or helps you escape eternal death, then you have a covenant with Death and an Agreement with Hell, not Jesus! There is only one eternal covenant that the blood of Jesus was spilled to make. In this day, the mass falling away and breaking of this everlasting covenant has been well documented, so that few would even try to argue the point, that the Truth has fallen in the streets! It is this very truth that we must receive and believe which is able to save our souls.
THE MECHANICS OF SALVATION
Jesus said, you must be born again of the Spirit, to become a child of God. Now let me tell you if you don't already know that we are called children because of our relation to God by birth. This birth is not less, but even more significant and comparable to the natural birth we all have experienced which makes us human beings born of flesh. First it begins with a Father and Mother, it is the Father who provides the seed and the Mother the womb that brings about this new birth. As we are in the womb of our natural Moms for the space of nine months, so there is a season in which the beginning of Spiritual life is in the womb, previous to the actual birth.
1CO. 15:1-2 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which ye are saved, IF ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
Paul, the Apostle, is clearly calling them brothers who have received the seed, which is the whole counsel of God, the Word of God, from his preaching. Paul is doing the ministry of God, the Father, in preaching the Word of God to those who would receive it. Paul says here that this very Word that they have received is able to save them, IF they keep in memory what he has preached to them. He further says, if those same brothers, he was addressing, don't keep the things in mind he has preached to them, they will have believed in vain. How does that statement effect the security in your salvation, you have been taught you must have, so that you can know you are, past tense, saved?
The Father ministry is typically the Apostolic, Prophetic gifts and the Mother ministry is typically the Pastoral, Teacher ministries. The seed by which one is given life, which makes them an offspring of God, is the Word of God.
John 6:27 Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
That meat, Jesus is talking about here, is the Word of God that we must LABOR for. It is clear that everlasting life, salvation is a free gift from God and cannot be earned yet, God does not offer that gift to everyone, only to those who seek, knock and the door is opened unto them. It is ONLY him who LABORS for that meat that endureth, hath God the Father sealed. I hear people proclaim that God has sealed them with the Holy Spirit of promise, therefore they can never lose what they have been sealed with. I say to this, unless you LABOR for the meat that endureth, forsaking all things of this life, including and especially money, you are not sealed at all!
EPH. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, AFTER that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
To God, one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day, so when God says in the day you seek me with your whole heart this is the day you will become found of me, God is talking about a season in your life of HIS choosing. The scripture says now is the day (season) of salvation, now is the accepted time. It is God that calls you, accepts you, finds you and chooses you, this is only possible by him. The only reason we find him, is because he is near and makes it possible, otherwise we would never find him. What does the scripture say about the final judgement? Depart from me ye workers of iniquity, I NEVER KNEW YOU!
The Word of God is the life of God and Jesus his Son, it is an exact DNA of God. Unless you are born of that seed, you are not related to God. The Word of God is a precious seed that must originate with Jesus. Jesus discipled 12 Apostles and they went out to make disciples of others. If being a disciple of Jesus was not important, then he would not have stressed this teaching throughout his ministry. This may sound strange to you, but unless you are discipled by Jesus or by one who is a disciple of Jesus, you simply are not his disciple, you are not related to God.
God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save the lost. The scripture clearly says, how shall they hear without a preacher and how shall they preach except they be SENT. Jesus does not send anyone that is not his disciple because you cannot give what you have not received. I believe that the next major event before the coming of the Lord and the end, is the final preaching of the gospel throughout the world, for a witness. I believe this preaching will be the real thing and most people have never heard anything like it!
So how shall we know that we are being discipled by a true disciple of Jesus? How shall we know if we are a true disciple of Jesus? If you see a Brother or Brothers that have GREAT love one for another, a love that is greater than any love found in the world, if the greatest concern and commitment among them is love, then, and only then will you know that they are his disciples.
This love is not limited to but certainly includes the following:
1) Ministering to each other's financial needs.
a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear, with a emphasis put on honest work, training of thoses who need job training, that all Brothers would be able to provide for their own household and more. Yes really caring for each other!
2) Ministering to each other's spiritual needs. When one brother weeps, we all weep, when one brother rejoices, we all rejoice, truly seeking to be used by God to serve others. He that is Greatest among you shall be the servant of all.
3) Ministering to the needs of those who are without. They saw their good works and glorified their Father in heaven. Reaching out to the poor and needy, visiting prisoners as the Lord leads, truly seeking God to lay upon our hearts what we can do to reach out to those who are not his children. Why? Simply to bring glory to the name of the Lord!
DEFUSING THE LIES
Does the Bible tell you to accept Jesus? The problem with this teaching is it gives the impression to the new convert that they are doing God a favor to accept him, when the exact opposite is true! In truth it is Jesus that accepts us! The scripture plainly says that no man comes to the Father but by Jesus and it is Jesus that does the calling and choosing, not us! What we should be instructing new converts to receive, is Jesus, THE WORD OF GOD, that sharp two edged sword that gives a man who receives it a circumcised heart to rightly divide. FAITH in acceptance of Jesus is not THE FAITH that saves but a faith that misleads.
NO WHERE IN THE BIBLE IS ANY CHRISTIAN INSTRUCTED TO PUT FAITH IN THE SECURITY OF SALVATION, BUT TO FEAR HIM WHO IS ABLE TO DESTROY BOTH THE SOUL AND BODY IN HELL!
In a day and age where self esteem is at an all time high and God esteem is at an all time low, people are most concerned about their security. What guarantees can they count on? How risky is this investment of time, emotions or money? I might invest, if I can be guaranteed an appropriate return, they say. So to appeal to this need of security, there is a doctrine called ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED, SECURITY IN SALVATION.
The problem with this false teaching, is mostly in the way it is applied and taught. It tells the new convert that they have in about a few hours been born again and sealed by the holy Spirit bases on some repeat after me prayer! Security in salvation takes the place of belief and trust in the righteousness of God. Why Fear God? He is now bound to keep his promises to you, even if you live a life of sin! So what if I don't have a big house in heaven, at least I get to live forever!
This security in salvation rather than walking in the fear of God and trusting his righteousness, knowing he is a God of love and mercy, is a destructive force among proclaiming Christians today! This most certianly is a covenant with death and an agreement with hell!
You say "I am saved!" WHAT ARE YOU SAVED FROM TODAY?
ARE YOU SAVED FROM ETERNAL DEATH? NO YOUR NOT!
ARE YOU SAVED FROM SIN? NOT IF YOU ARE STILL IN BONDAGE TO SIN!
ARE YOU SAVED FROM SICKNESS? NOT IF YOU ARE SICK ALL THE TIME!
ARE YOU SAVED FROM ALL HURTS AND WOUNDS ON THIS EARTH? NOT IF YOU ARE HURTING OR WOUNDED!
ARE YOU SAVED FROM POVERTY? NOT IF YOU ARE POOR!
ARE YOU SAVED FROM SHAME AND CONTEMPT? NOT IF YOU EXPERIENCE SHAME AND CONTEMPT!
Don't lie to yourself or God, if you are saved from something that is obviously verifiable, than confess the deliverance of God with praise on your lips, but don't lie about it!
Rom. 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
I THES. 5:8-9 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, THE HOPE OF SALVATION. (and obey the previous verse) For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Notice here that it does not say we are already saved, it says that we have yet to obtain salvation and that we should put on the breastplate of faith and love and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. The scripture says, without a vision the people perish, this is our vision, the hope of salvation. Not that any of us should think we have arrived and already attained, but that we should press on to the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus, walking in a fear and trembling at his Word.
I would like to point out to you the difference between preaching of the gospel to the poor and preaching to the rich. Jesus spoke of the difficulty of a rich man entering into the kingdom of God. If you don't know already, you are rich in comparison to the poor of Jesus's day. There are some places you can find truly poor people, but most of us are rich in the context of what Jesus was saying. When the disciples of John the Baptist, questioned whether or not Jesus was the Christ, Jesus answered and said go tell John that the poor have the gospel preached to them. Why didn't he say the rich?
When the poor have the gospel preached to them, it is GOOD NEWS, they can only be delivered and saved from the miserable lives they live. When Jesus says, if you don't forsake all, you cannot be my disciple, the poor man says, I have nothing to forsake, yet the rich young ruler sadly walked away. The preaching of the gospel to a rich man is not as easily heard, as it is for a poor man. Today in America, we are a society of rich men, no wonder the preaching of the gospel has been perverted to cater to these people that do not tolerate sound teaching.
The teaching that says, since Christ died once, therefore I need to only confess my sins once and they are forgiven past and future, is a LIE. The scripture clearly says that who you yield your members to, you are his servant, be not deceived brethren, he who continually sins is of the devil. Repentance is to turn away from those sins! My LITTLE children, if you sin you have an advocate with the Father, if you confess your sins, he is faithful and just to cleans you from all unrighteousness. The scripture also says elsewhere, that we should confess our faults one to another. This confession that the scripture declares is not to God, but one to another, God is well aware of your sin, he doesn't need you to confess to him, but to the brothers and sisters around you that care for you and bare your burdens. Next time you are tempted to give into that lust, I bet you will think twice about having to confess it before brothers! Am I right or not?
RECENT EXPERIENCE WITH JD
JD is a young man, 20 years of age, who God has brought me to minister to. It started out with JD's girlfriend, which is a close friend of our family, Jessica. Jessica has been around our family for years and at one time lived with us for 6 months, she is like a daughter to us. Although we have sharply warned her about being yoked with unbelievers, she became JD's girl friend at a time that JD was not interested in the things of God. Jessica has continually made a commitment before God to remain pure before marriage. At first I did not believe her, you know how things are today, but now after much time and discussion on the matter with Jessica, I am finally convinced that Jessica has remained a virgin to date.
About a couple months ago, JD started going to church with Jessica and went down to the front of the church and accepted Jesus into his heart, Calvary Chapel style. Since then JD lost his job and Jessica brought him to the house to meet us. I was able to offer JD a job, training and a future, and at the same time offering him my time, effort and money, in the pursuit of discipleship, he gladly accepted. All was going well at first, JD was responding favorably to the gospel, picking up the trade I was teaching him, a fairly intelligent young man, until this past weekend.
JD has been a lover of the beach all of his life and this past weekend JD and his ungodly friends decided to go to Mexico, camp out and surf. What happened is, he and his friends all got drunk in Mexico and bought fireworks. While driving drunk and shooting fireworks out the window of the car and passing a police station, they got pulled over. They were arrested and spent 6 hours in a Mexican jail until they could come up with enough money to be released.
The next opportunity I had to talk to JD, I sharply rebuked him for his sin and told him if he wanted to be a disciple of Jesus, he had to give up his friends and the beach. I told him that God had called him, extended mercy to him in this season of salvation, now is the accepted time and now is the season of salvation for him. I said how shall you escape if you neglect such a GREAT salvation. I continued to tell him that there is no guarantee that you will be shown any further mercy from God if you turn your back on God when he is near. I told him to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and God will give you everything that pertains to life and Godliness. You see they told JD at Calvary Chapel that he was now saved, done, over with! What a lie!
Since our last conversation, JD has not showed up for work anymore and does not want to hear anymore from me, instead he is going back to those who will give him the guarantees and security he is looking for. In other words, the truth is to hard for him to bare, you see he loves the beach with all his heart, soul and mind. Pray for JD, that God will show him further mercy and discipline the child he loves. And pray for Jessica that she will do as she says, and not marry a man that will not make God his head. You see, they have already set a wedding date. I told Jessica, if you marry this man right now, you are making the Devil your head! Isn't that true?!
We have to stop approving of or preaching a cheap grace, it is a lie, because grace is never cheap, it will cost us all that we are and have. Abraham, a type of God, asked his son Issac to lay down his life as a sacrifice to God. We all as God's children are asked to do the same thing. We do this fully prepared for God our Father, to thrust that knife into us, yet we know that God is a righteous God and desires to give his children good things. So we lay our lives down, a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service, because faith without works is dead.
Thank you for listening!
