ADULT STEM CELLS AND INCONTINENCE
Austrian researchers have successfully treated urinary incontinence in 18 women using stem cells taken from the patient’s
own arm muscles. The stem cells from the left arm were cultured for six weeks
and then re-injected into the patients’ urethra and sphincter muscles. The
stem cells differentiated in both muscle cells and connective tissue to thicken the urethra and bulk up sphincter muscles. Adult stem cells require killing no one and do so much good.
