Once each month I visit the Bellingham area. I have a few routine rides in the area but my favorites are: First the 40 mile loop around Sumas Mountain with an added trip up to Silver Lake. This has 1600 feet of climbing in the 40 miles with beautiful scenery. Second is the climb up Mt Baker to the artists overlook. Only open in late June thru September. Mt Baker is a 3000 ft climb in 10.5 miles then back down. A steady 5.5% grade to the top. No flats, just climb. The ride down is a bit tricky as there are usually potholes all over. I have the profiles for these two rides below and the pictures are from Mt Baker climb. Map at the bottom.

Mt Baker climb. What goes up must come down. 10 miles of steady 5.5% grade.
