Dear Jane,
My name is John Q. Public; I’m Co-Chair of the Denver Green Party – a chapter of the
Green Party of Colorado.
With the 2004 election just around the corner, we are ramping up for our “20/20” registration
drive. Our campaign goal is to register 20,000 Green Party voters in Colorado in time to vote in next November’s election. To reach this goal we need your help to raise $20,000 (get it? 20/20).
As a registered Green, you know the importance of grassroots support to our continued growth. We will draw on volunteers and activists to reach our goals, but we can’t do
it without you. Please help jump start our campaign with a $500 or $50 contribution.
Nationally we have 177 Green officeholders, including State Representatives in Maine and New Jersey. In Colorado alone, nine individuals hold offices on Town Councils and County Commissions. Green Party activists are working hard to build
on this success for 2004, organizing to take electoral power through the ballot box.
