watch out for that first step at the end of the landing!  Recent storms had not been kind to the beaches of South Lake Tahoe CA, forming major erosion patterns in the sand such as this one immediately in front of the westernmost stairway from street level down to the beaches as seen during my visit 051223

electric hot pot with 8 oz water, timer set to 15 mins after boiling begins, and ingredients clockwise from top, 1/4 cup rice, 1/8 tsp black pepper, 1/8 tsp red pepper, one bullion cube, 3/8 tsp dried minced onion, 3/8 tsp curry powder.  Not shown is the 3 oz tuna fish, chunk ham, chunk chicken or other low fat meat added one minute before cooking is done.  A still life

sweet little relative of the Bighorn Sheep at the Living Desert seen 051118.  There being no artistic merit to having a heavy leather leash and chain link to her collar in my final picture, however useful for safety reasons in a zoo with lotsa critters capable of eating her and lotsa botanicals capable of being eaten, I retouched the photo to eliminate those artistic distractions

miles even from the small town of Tonopah NV with nothing around but a few cactus and some sagebrush plants, this pigeon was part of an entire flock of such birds flying and strutting around the Miller's Rest Area in the southeast Nevada desert next to Hwy 95 seen 051119

this little five pointed star flower, only about one inch across, was growing at the base of a plant I photographed from about six feet away in the Wilbur D. May Arboretum in Reno NV on 051105 with my new dig it all camera
