this park in northern coastal California was the first
destination sight for my August 2002 Pacific Northwest Tour

the sandy beach on the Pacific Ocean near the beginning of Redwoods National and State Park was followed by this group of small cat-tail like grasses outside the Park information center.  There I was directed to the Lady Bird Johnson Trail to see the redwoods which were my main reason for including California on my August 2002 Pacific Northwest Tour

the foliage at the top of each redwood gathers the energy for its growth.  The trees are so tall and the canopy so thick that it is difficult to see or photograph such a view
