An 8-Track Miscellany
Ebay-o-rama! Did I ever ennumerate my last batch of acquisitions? I guess so. More recently I bought
22 VARIOUS 8 TRACK TAPES,Polka,Piano,Big Band (sic)
They didn't list them but they were on labels I like that I don't have a lot of. "Vivid Sounds" and North American Leisure Corp. Not exactly legit sounding outfits. I wonder if they're just nice bootlegs? There's Bert Kaempfert and Lionel Hampton and two 'Tribute to' tapes. I'll list 'em when they come.

I saw so many amazing things on ebay. One of my faves is this 8-Track Repair Kit:





Now there's a Radio Shack item I'd like to find somewhere. 44-577. I could use an old Radio Shack catalog too, to see what else there was.

Another thing I really want on 8-track, but can't find is Womyn's Music. That's a euphemism for lesbian folk music. There were lots of records released in the mid 70s to early 80s. They were mostly on Olivia Records (Meg Christian, Cris Williamson), Ladyslipper (Alix Dobkin) and other small women-run labels. Here's one that's on Rounder though:





I have a ton of this stuff on vinyl, but have yet to get any on my favorite format. Fanny is one lesbian group I have seen on ebay. I would also think Holly Near would exist on 8-track, but I've never seen any. So if there's any dykes out there with womyn's music 8-tracks, let me know!
