Today a guy I know from work brought me 31 8-tracks. He probably found them in the trash. I paid him $22. Some will think I'm crazy when I tell you what they are:
Shirley Bassey - I Capricorn
Shirley Bassey - The Shirley Bassey Collection
Shirley Bassey - Shirley Bassey's Greatest Hits
Shirley Bassey - Something
Shirley Bassey - Thoughts of Love
all on United Artists with nice covers.
Roberta Flack - Feel Like Makin' Love - Atlantic
Judy Garland - The Incomparable Judy Garland
Judy Garland - Judy in Hollywood
Judy Garland - Judy's Portrait in Song
Judy Garland - Over the Rainbow
these are all recorded at the American Tape Corporation aka Remington Record Corporation at the same address in Jersey. I think they must be pirated, but with nice covers.
Dick Haymes - The Best of Dick Haymes - MCA
Johnny Mathis - All-Time Greatest Hits
Johnny Mathis - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me (eeww)
Johnny Mathis - The Johnny Mathis Treasury - 3 8-track set!
Johnny Mathis - Mathis Is
Johnny Mathis - Merry Christmas
These are all Columbia. I don't even know if I like Mathis, but my tastes are very eclectic, so it is possible I will.
Frank Sinatra - Concert Sinatra - reprise
Frank Sinatra - My One and Only Love - Capitol
Frank Sinatra - Sentimental Journey - Capitol
Frank Sinatra - Some Nice Things I've Missed - reprise
Barbra Streisand - Simply Streisand - columbia
Barbra Streisand - Streisand Superman - Columbia
Sarah Vaughan - The Divine One _ Emus 1975
Sarah Vaughan - Dreamy - Emus 1975
Sarah Vaughan - [Eponymous] - Emus 1975
Sarah Vaughan - Live in Japan - Mainstream 1973 - 8-track made in London
Sarah Vaughan - More Sarah Vaughan live from Japan - Mainstream 1975
Sarah Vaughan and Billy Eckstine - Ember 1963 also from London
Sarah Vaughan with Count Basie and his Orchestra - Emus 1975
The Sarah Vaughan's are the ones I really wanted. I have most of the others. Streisand Sinatra and Mathis are ubiquitous on 8-track. I got 'em coming out of my ears. I do love DIck Haymes though.
