Note: Tomorrow People don't ingest anything that will affect the
functioning of their minds. Alcohol affects the mind. Therefore, Tomorrow
People don't drink alcohol. This game is meant for root beer, juice, or other
soft drinks, or you could use M&M's (1=sip, 2=gulp, use snack size/halloween
size bags for whole drink-- or two really big handfuls). Or you can be really
weird and put the M&M's in a drink. But the M&M's have to be blue, and the
drink must be carbonated and sweetened.
Take a sip when:
- The TP's special powers are taken away.
- Twice for when volumin is used.
- A TP is ordered to stay in the lab when they'd rather do otherwise.
- TP's fire stun guns at each other.
- TIM makes something materialize
- The youngest TP present starts pouting.
- TP's throw things or hit each other.
- A TP wields a deadly weapon.
- A TP is knocked unconscious by something other than synaptrol.
- Twice if it's Mike.
- Three if he complains about a headache afterwards.
- A TP sings.
- Someone/something else controls a TP's mind.
- Someone jaunts and TIM can't find them.
- Someone tries to jaunt and TIM won't let them.
- Twice if it's against John's expectations.
- Three if he doesn't have to exercise power over the jaunting booster at
all.
- TIM goes into parental mode.
- Twice if it's directed at John.
- John goes into parental mode.
- Twice for when it's directed at non-TPs or he feels guilty about it
afterwards.
- Three if he actually apologizes to them later.
- John rolls his eyes.
- John is shot.
- Someone plays a joke on John.
- Twice if he retaliates.
- Three if a third party takes the liberty of getting John back.
- Someone grabs food out of Stephen's hands. (TIM de-atomizing it counts.)
- Stephen starts bragging over something.
- Liz suddenly decides to be argumentative, take charge, or lecture the others.
- Liz grins tolerantly.
- Tyso's gypsy heritage is mentioned.
- Mike argues with anyone.
- Mike executes a scheme.
- Twice if John would've been hopping mad if it didn't work.
- Mike does something really stupid.
- Mike exhibits poor fashion sense- even for the era!
- Hsui Tai runs down steps in a tizzy.
- Andrew complains about not having gone into space yet.
- Andrew is left to save the day.
- Each use of the word "Sap"
- The "you can say that again" joke (or any variation) is used.
- The no-killing rule is mentioned.
- Twice if it is in a conversation only between TP's and maybe TIM.
- They try to use a matter transporter.
- Twice if it won't work on whoever they want to matter transport.
- Three if they're using it themselves because their powers have gone out.
- The story involves aliens.
- A sap or non-Trig alien is in the lab.
- Twice if they force their way in.
- Consider it a gulp if said sap or alien has "visited" in
previous episodes.
- An enemy becomes a friend and is involved in several serials afterwards (1st
conversation with a TP only).
- Any character is shown without a shirt, pants, or both.
- Twice if you cringe.
- Three if you enjoy yourself.
- Four if said enjoyment is followed by the realization that the person
you're oggling is now old enough to be your parent.
- Green light or squiggly line special effects are used.
- Twice if it's for a TP special power.
- The Trig's rules are violated and the Federation does nothing.
- Some sceintific jargon has no one fooled.
- You find yourself wincing at any of the fashions.
- The theme is used as incidental music.
Take a gulp when:
- A sap is used as the TP's muscle.
- Two muscle men, one dumb and the other very dumb, appear.
- Fake Southern accents appear. (They'll never be real so don't worry about it.)
- Someone speaks with a good American accent.
- Timus is confused about greeting gestures.
- Someone jaunts without the use of a belt or band.
- A TP's mind is taken over.
- A TP is sedated with synaptrol (in the case of multiple druggings, one for
each individual drugged).
- A Tomorrow Person wears a kilt
- Twice if another TP (or Chris) makes fun of them for it.
- They forget to explain a TP disappearing from the show.
- Twice if they're mentioned in passing later just for the heck of it.
- They bring up TPs again after their disappearance is explained.
- Twice if the disappearance of the TP that is brought up wasn't explained
and still isn't!
- A cliffhanger manages to get the majority of the TP in the episode into
trouble.
- Timus uses the TP to break the Trig's non-interference policy.
- Someone other than Mike does something really stupid.
- You see Mike with a pair of drumsticks.
- Mike does something smart.
- John and Liz start mother henning or bawling the others out in synch (not
arguing over it).
- You wonder why they bothered with a scientific advisor at all.
- There is a fairy tale reference (episode titles count).
- Something other than the theme is used as incidental music.
- A trend in fashion or pop culture turns out to be an insidious alien plot.
Drink the whole drink when:
- John hugs someone using two arms.
- John gets a last name.
- Hsui Tai is shown to have a backbone in any episode other than "The Lost
Gods".
- Andrew gets to go into outer space (extra vehicular activity only, ie, AE suit
required).
- Any of them are shown to have an significant other. Ever.
- A fashion trend or fad turns out to be as harmless as it seems. (Hey, it could happen!)
Cues for fans who are more familiar with the new series (these are all
sips):
- You expect John to hug someone.
- You think the TPs powers are too easy to take away.
- You think Tutankahamun must've been one 'eck of a TP.
- You freak out because someone says "hell" instead of "heck"
- Why the difference, anyway?.
- Something reminds you of the new series.
- Twice if you realize it's actually the other way around.
- Three if it's from a new series episode written by someone who hadn't ever seen the original series at that point.
- A character almost identical to one you're familar with shows up.
