We're done. Finished. Finito. That's all they wrote.
Mostly over IM chat, somewhat over e-mail, and sometimes on our Livejournals. (Don't try to find the parts on our LJs - they're friends-locked so only we can see them.)
"Utopia" was the tentative title for the story. However, due to some Real Life havoc (moving, among other things) on EstiRose's end, and a department switch on Tigger's end, we never gave it a posting title. Therefore, it posted with its tentative title.
We try really hard, sometimes with mixed results. Some were easier than others. "Deciding" was probably less than complex. "Thunders' Trust" was titled based on a discussion between Cam and the Thunders in a previous story. It sort of wandered away from the point. First Night was also another obvious one. Um, there's lots of titles, does this give you an idea?
Yes, they did. In fact, the first Nintendos were from the late eighties. And there were several video game systems before that - chiefly, the Atari 2600, the Intellivision, and the Colecovision. (Cam and Hunter are playing on an Intellivision in "Utopia".)
It's not Hunter/Cam because this is the story of how Hunter and Blake adopt Cam as a big brother. Therefore Hunter/Cam would be incest. It's not Blake/Tori because this story isn't about Tori. It's about Hunter, Cam, and Blake. But we like Blake/Tori, so that's why there's little hints at it in spots.
Because Tigger had one (a yellow one named Dustin), and she wanted to share the love? Seriously, when we were doing the descriptions for Wallflowers, she added a betta tank to Cam's room. It just seemed like something that would be there. The idea sort of grew from there.
Tofutti is a brand of tofu-based nondairy frozen dessert (or as Tigger calls it "ice cream like substance"). The mint chocolate chip 'ice cream' sandwich (the "Cutie") is very, very tasty, and it's what Hunter is eating during a story or two. As to why we eat those, well... we like them, among other things. (Neither of us is vegetarian/vegan, but we know a good snack when we see it. Especially when you're sick and it's dairy-free.)
Because Jason Chan is a Mac user? ducks
In reality, both of us use Macs - one of us uses an iBook, and the other one a Powerbook. So we think Cam would have the sense to use Macs.
OK, the Harry Potter reference is from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Ron wants to know who is taking Hermione to the Yule ball, so he keeps trying to surprise her with the question so she'll answer. We'll leave you to wonder about the rest of that. Simon Tam is a Firefly character who gave up everything to save his sister from some pretty nasty experiments. "Megabyte, shut up" is a Tomorrow People reference--one of the characters is named Megabyte and is always told to shut up. That would be the new series. The original series is the one that got "hell" onto Nickelodeon.
We weren't expecting them to actually bring back Jason David Frank when we paired up Cam and Trini--and it seems unrealistic that Trini wouldn't eventually guess what her boyfriend was up to--especially after "Birthday Surprises". We're trying to walk the narrow trail of Jossage between explaining the footage from "Legacy of Power" and not looking silly when the team-up happens.
