Small Power Profit From Clean Perpetual Fuel Source, Tomatoes and Fish While Reducing Global Warming

You can protect the environment without sacrificing profit. Most people do not realize that coal, considered by many one of the dirtiest of fuel sources, releases methane gas which is a very clean fuel source. The process is called desorption and it is perpetual. As long as there is any coal present, the methane is produced. In underground coal mines hundreds of throusands of tons of coal remain in the mine after it is closed because miners cannot get all of the coal out of the mine. So what happens is that they seal the mine as required by law and the methane builds up in the artifical caverns they created in the mining process. This clean methane fuel is obtained by drilling into these abandoned mines. The amount of methane in many of these mines is not sufficient to attract the major players and is a niche market for smaller players. The trick is to draw the methane out of the mine at the same rate it is being replenished through desorption. Then you have a perpetual fuel source on site. Left to itself, a coal mine deteriorates through subsidence and the methane eventually seeps or in some cases belches into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming.

Tennessee Power Company (TPCO) is developing the first 5,000-kilowatt increment of what promises to be a very profitable coalbed methane project. This increment of the project will reduce global warming by avoiding the release of an equivalent of approximately 150,000 tons per year of CO2 into the atmosphere.


Waste heat will be captured and used in greenhouses to raise tomatoes and heat fish tanks to raise a tropical fish in great demand. In this specially developed hydroponic process the fish nourish the roots of the tomatoes and the roots of the tomatoes keep the water clean.
