In All Things... There Is A Hope In Jesus

A B C's of Divorce

A = Alcohol, Adultery, Abuse, Anything Related

Couples do not divorce because of Alcohol, Adultery, Abuse… or Anything related…  these are symptoms of a greater problem.

Some turn to Alcohol so that don't have to deal with reality, it fills a void… missing part.   In Relationships an Alcoholic problem will stop communication, cause unwanted behavior, violate trust…. Destroy communication, covenant (commitment) and respect.

Adultery also fills a missing part… the intrigue, excitement, mystery, thrill of the catch or secret, becomes intoxication.  It to violate trust destroys communication, covenant and respect.

Abuse also is a symptom of something missing in one or both spouses.  It is displace anger or learned aggression replaces the ability to communicate.  It becomes intoxication and gives birth to a cycle.  Violates trust… there is not communication, covenant is damaged and replaces respect with fear.

Anything that violates trust becomes Betrayal and will adversely effect Communication, Commitment, and Respect… in which NO Marriage could survive without.

B = Betrayal

     Root Sin of Divorce = Selfishness

     Selfishness produces "Betrayal"

Betrayal violates trust, destroys respect, and invites bitterness, Damages and Future Effort for Relationships.

C = Christ

     The only Hope… the Only Answer is Christ
     Christ Commands Covenant
     Christ Commands Communication
     Christ Commands Confession
     Christ Commands Consecration
     Christ Commands Clinging

Other Points Concerning Divorce:

     A = All Lose
     B = Bitterness Bites
     C = Children Suffer

In Addition to feelings of:

     A = Anguish
     B = Brokenness
     C = Condemnation

D I V O R C E...

Death, for when you come this far something has already died.

Interpretation,  now you have to tell everyone your side of the story. How you see things… your opinion of failure.

Vulnerable, unstable emotionally, open to others opinions and direction for life… empty, lonely, weak, longing for security.

Ostracized, don't fit in to married circles, friends choose sides.

Running to get to a better place but taking all your old baggage with you.

Clinging & Crying to anyone who will listen, sympathize, support your views.

Enter Cycle, because your vulnerable, lonely, running away from failure, needing to cling and cry… not having dealt with our failures and mistakes… you enter another relationship, just to find yourself in the same or similar situation you came out of.

Why?   Because you brought all your baggage with you… You didn't change problems… just Partners.

Enlist You - back into service for the King

Restoration

Restoration comes from the root word restore, meaning to bring back to its original state.

First and foremost, "Restoration", should be the restoration of the Covenant.  God is able to restore broken marriages, and this is God's desire.  But, as we know, there are times that marriages do not come back together, for whatever reasons.  And when this happens, as often it does, is there Restoration for those who do not reunite with their former spouse?

YES, you can receive "Restoration" in your life, even if you should never be reunited with your spouse.

In the Bible, Job lost everything; even sons and daughters… yet received a double portion of everything.  Including Son's and Daughters, but note, his son's and daughters were not raised from the dead; they were new sons and daughters.

And If you were restoring a car, and it required changing the fender… when you were finished, you would not be able to tell that there was any damage… or that the fender was new… not apart of the original.

So, "Restoration", does not always mean to take one back to its original parts.  In some circumstance where it becomes impossible to mend a covenant, the covenant dies and must be buried.  And later the Lord brings a new covenant, as part of one's restoration.
