In December 1980, Bishop Javed Albert left his secular job and joined a bible school in the USA to serve God's people in Pakistan.
Bishop Albert has worked over 20 years building the largest independent Christian ministry in his home country of Pakistan.
Starting out on foot and riding on buses ministering from town to town, God has opened doors and created strong ties with
the government and national Islamic leaders over the years. It has not been an easy task, and at times his life has been threatened
with several near missed attacks from the opposition. Bishop Albert has been faithful in trusting God with his life and the
life of his family as they minister in a land known as the capital of Islam. With over 140 million people fit into an area
the size of Louisiana and Texas, Pakistan is one of the poorer nations on earth. Christians make up 2% of the population and
suffer more than any other ethnic or religious group. Literacy is very low, and electricity, running water and medical services
are scarce outside of the larger cities. Bishop Albert's wife, Jameela, is also an annointed preacher and heads the women's
ministry.
