Dr. No "take no prisoners" 007 Jaguar

Getting down to the last four days before the race.
We had a delay receiving some front-end parts and were unable to get the car to the paint shop.  Looks like we will have to be inventive with our paint scheme.  Most of the car is finished and we are dealing with the  "little things".  Seems those  "little things" always keep you working late into the night.

Inside is complete with the ratchet shifter now covered,  wink mirror installed along with the racing seat, harness and outside mirror. I've added a passenger seat so one of our first-time drivers can attend a "driving class" the day prior to the Infineon Race. An instructor will ride along with him. We've replaced the early model solid front brake rotors with later vented units along with matching calipers.  New wheel bearings, seals, heavy-duty gas shocks and a XJ-12 sway bar make up changes to the front suspension.  We also cut the front springs to bring down the height and stiffen things up. New brake lines all around make me feel better than the previous 40 year-old ones.

Competition endurance brake pads and Super Blue Brake fluid from Porterfield Brakes handle the stopping power.

Old solid rotor would never stand up to the heat.

A few years ago, I purchased a 1984 XJ 12 with a posi rear end.  Most of the car is history but I saved the rear end assembly.  After checking it over, rebuilding the rear brake calipers, installing a braided steel brake line and a little clean-up, it found its way under the 007 Jag.

Coming back from the track after it's first check ride.

Painting the car on a very low budget consisted of two cans of "Forest Green" supplied by Rustolium.  Total price about 10 bucks.  Our first day at the track showed us a few weak points.

We raced the car on the stock 15 x 6 original rims with street tires.
