Transitions
In the twilight of attention, inner
geographies drown,
amnesiac fluid quelling embryonic sight.
Spring that
peevish sprite from granite sleep:
stone become tree become man.
Radix
delves for sunken fire, apex tickles sky;
infinities cycle from taproot
through crown.
Balloon-skin cosmos stretches halfway to its breach:
tree
become flow become star.
The year contracts, the gauzy veil is
breached;
voices roll in torrents through the shoals
to break on reefs in
spray of fractured phrases:
man become word become
sea.
