Williams families in Williams

I'm looking for information about the Robert and Nancy (Capen) WILLIAMS family, residents of Mount Morris, Livingston County, New York in 1840, 1850 & 1860 census.

Robert WILLIAMS   b. abt 1800 in NY.   d. after 1860

Nancy CAPEN   b. abt 1803 in NY.   d. after 1860

married abt 1824

 

Children of Robert and Nancy:


1.Chester A. WILLIAMS   b. 1825 in NY    d. 18 Aug 1894 in Plainwell, MI

m. (1)  Catherine ALLEN  (2)  Harriet TALLMAN

Children:

    1-1. Edgar  b. 1872 in Williams, MI

    1-2. Harry  b. 1876 in Williams, MI

    1-3. Belle Florence  b. 1877 in Williams, MI

 
The woman seated in the center of this 1915 photo is Chester Williams' 2nd wife, Harriet (TALLMAN) Williams. Her daughter, Belle GRICE, is standing on the left. Harriet's great grandson, Dick GRICE, is in front of her.

I found Electa J. EDWARDS listed as a widow and living with her widowed father in the 1880 census of New York state. They were located in Nunda, which is south of Mount Morris in Livingston County.


5.Alfred WILLIAMS b. Nov 1834 in NY    served in Civil War    d. 04 Mar 1902

m. Mary   b. Jul 1843

Children:

    5-1. Halsey A.  b. 1862 in NY

    5-2. Fred K.  b. 1867 in NY

    5-3. Sarah A.  b. 1869 in MI

    5-4. Frank K.  b. 1871 in MI, married Rose Ann Shields (click for photo)

    5-5. Alfred  b. Dec 1873 in MI   d. 1953

    5-6. John  b. Jun 1875 in MI   d. 1948

   5- 7. Bert  b. Mar 1877 in MI
 


6.Almira WILLIAMS   b. 1834 (twin)

 


7.Mary WILLIAMS   b. 1837


 

All three boys (1, 2 and 5 above) moved to Alamo Township. I don't know where Robert and Nancy died and I know nothing of the fate of their sisters.

I would love to share info on this interesting family!
