      To Mazatlan

We left Barra with our friends on Elysium and headed for Chamala, about 52 miles up coast. Weather was unsettled and a storm system was reported on the way. After rounding Punta Corrientes in big breeze we decided to stop in Puerto Vallarta at Marina Vallarta for a couple of days to ride out the weather.

Anchored at Isabela

After PV we stopped overnight at Punta Mita and then headed  to Chacala, about 32 miles up coast. Nice, small anchorage with a nice beach. Next stop was San Blas. Stayed outside where it was muggy and buggy. Left early the next day for Isla Isabela, a bird sanctuary about 52 miles from San Blas and 15 miles off shore. Good anchorage with an amazing amount of birds; pelicans, frigates, etc. There is a fish camp on shore and nothing else. The birds would fill the sky and literally cover all the vegetation on the beach.
