- Frank "Toby" Tobias has been trimming horses naturally since 2003.
Having studied with AANHCP founder Jaime Jackson, master trimmer Pete Ramey and others, Toby became certified as a natural
hoof care practitioner and instructor in 2005.
- If you haven't already visited Pete Ramey's site, www.hoofrehab.com, it's a great place to learn. Pete has lots of articles
and pictures of the wild horse hoof model that Toby's trim is based on.
- Toby has also studied natural horsemanship, applying the gentle horse
handling techniques taught by Clinton Anderson, Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman. Many horses that "can't stand the
farrier" are known to stand quietly for Toby's trim after he has gained their trust and respect -- without getting mean or
mad.
- If you live in South Florida, Toby is available to evaluate and trim
your horses' hooves and to provide you with instruction on how to keep them sound and healthy. Call 561-876-2929 or
email us for more information or an appointment.
- If you are interested in joining the AANHCP program and scheduling
a mentorship with Toby, where you can ride with him and learn the trim, please visit the AANHCP website:

Here are Toby and Lauren riding with Buck Brannaman at McGinnis
Meadows Ranch in Montana last August. Toby rode in a horsemanship clinic every morning, and learned how to rope
cows in the afternoon. Buck Brannaman is not only a master of natural horsemanship (he inspired the writing
of the book and screenplay for "The Horse Whisperer") he is an incredible gentleman who entertains and inspires while
he teaches. Buck studied with Tom and Bill Dorrence, and Ray Hunt, among others, and his wisdom and talent with horses
is simply amazing. For more on Buck or to buy his excellent books or videos, visit www.Brannaman.com. As Buck says, "Horses and life. It's all the same to me."
