"I toured with the Paper Tulips and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!" Mike McHugh boarded as a temporary/touring drummer and then became a full on tulip after quitting Dirt Clod Fight. He collects tubes and tube amps, and built his own studio The Distillery, where we hatched three singles and the CD/Ep (CDROM) "Sound Tape Recording" ...This clove smokin', nail chompin freak toured several times with us, recording along the way at WFMU New Jersey and Mas Giorgini's Sonic Iguana studios in Indiana as well as the multi-locale Live 8-track Recording. Mike is the P.T. singles champion during a multiple-label period: Trailer Life Records "BunnyKrak", Big Jesus' Records "Cricket/Clinging Vine", Truk Records "Vitamin C/Gomper" Flipside's "Thrilling Rides" and the Spazm Live 8-track cartridge. I love mike.
Even though he never really quit the Tulips, Mike started handing out our phone number to drummers a week before we were going to leave on a national tour....
Currently, his mighty & Lizardesque band F.H.Hill Co. can be seen around Orange County and Los Angeles, and they just about rule the planet.
