called up ready to tour. We had seen him with his former band SpiderBaby,

While making drumming look like a frolicking circus act, Max would flop his jester hat bunny ears in amazing syncopation; spinning his sticks in the air and catching them behind his back. What a chaotic jumble! Siting his influences as Ed Wood and Taco Bell, his highly entertaining style thrilled us and all the bands we played with. On tour he wore pajamas and bunny ears every night!
His conceptal Stingray Video was never made, but we did release one CD/Ep with Max: "Small Bee Helicopter Type" completed just before he quit one (7am) morning during a gig at the Long Beach Marathon. After a divorce and re-marraige, he now plays guitar with his wife Heidi in the VooDuo, and operates a slice of B-Movie heaven in his video store. They plan on moving to Max's birthplace: Kansas.
