Hiking with a Legend

Imagine getting to share a few moments doing something you truly love with someone famous--even legendary--for doing the same thing.  What sort of things might I be talking about?  Well, take some of these situations as examples to illustrate my point:
  • Passing the football with Peyton Manning
  • Driving a race car with Richard Petty
  • Flying an airplane with Chuck Yeager
  • Hiking to Mt. LeConte with Ed Wright
I got to do the Mt. LeConte hike with Ed Wright last Saturday!

Not only did I get to share a few moments with Ed, I got to share a full day.  It was a very special experience for me and my hiking companion, Janice.

This was hike #1,305 to the lodge atop Mt. LeConte for Ed Wright, age 82.  I invite you to share, via our captioned photographs, some of the scenes I enjoyed while hiking with Ed, his friends and family.  Click here for photos.

Don't miss Ed's website where you can read all about his many hikes and also enjoy hiking stories shared by other hikers:  1001 Hikes to Mount LeConte and Counting.  Another interesting link is the LeConte Lodge website.

We hope you enjoy learning more about Mt. LeConte, the hiking trails and the hikers who love to go walk them.  If you'd like to see photos taken along other trails leading to/from Mt. LeConte then check out these links:

How do you get to Mt. LeConte?  Oh there are so many ways!  Here are links to pics taken along most of them....
