Yep, it is time for another fall color adventure.  Thursday, 10/23/08, we embarked on a trip planned by hiking buddy Janice who had yet to hike some of these trails.

The route was a total of 17.3 miles from Clingman's Dome down Forney Ridge, across Andrew's Bald and onward to Springhouse Branch trail.

Next we went west down Springhouse Branch to Forney Creek where there was an old CCC camp.  We diddle-daddled around on Forney Creek trail a bit before scooting across Whiteoak Branch trail to Lakeshore where we humped the long hill back out to the Tunnel at the end of "The Road to Nowhere", aka Lake View Drive.

It was an all-day kind of hike which required more driving than either of care to do twice in the same month.
