Teresa Matchett's students are drawn from the North Houston area, mostly from Klein ISD, but also from neighboring school districts such as Cy Fair and Conroe. Many of her students participate in area youth orchestras. Her students frequently are members of the All Region and All State Orchestras, and have also won solo competitions such as the North Houston Symphony League competition, and the Clear Lake Symphony Competition.

Teresa's students have gone on to major in music or to play at some of the following universities and colleges:
