Pat Robertson Invokes the Wrath of God
Why Christians don't band together and rip out Pat Robertson's voice box for spouting his own hateful and twisted views on God and Christianity is a mystery to me. Maybe Christians are just lazy. It can't be because they are too tolerant, because God knows that "tolerant" and "Christian" are two words that never occur in the same sentence unless they are linked by the word "not."
It seems that the intelligent voters of Dover, Pennsylvania, just ousted the school board members who advocated teaching "Intelligent Design" instead of, you know, science in their schools. As a result of their blasphemy, Pat Robertson has called down the wrath of God on the citizens of Dover.
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city," Robertson said Thursday on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "The 700 Club."
What a tool. Of course, this is also the lunatic who said that the terrorist attacks on New York were the result of America tolerating gays and liberated women. Oh yeah. He's also the jerk who made headlines this summer when he called on his daily show for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. So only idiots are listening to him anyway. And Republicans. But I repeat myself.
Even so, this is just more proof to me that God, in fact, does NOT exist. If God existed, he would have fried Pat Robertson with a lightning bolt long ago. I mean really, what kind of diety would put up with this kind of spokesman? Why wouldn't an omniscient and all-powerful God vaporize crass pretenders to the faith and elevate those who spoke truth?
