Who is Tblues (Tim)?

I am a native of South Texas born in 1952.   I have lived here all my life, but I have given consideration moving to a place where the weather is cooler and the culture is a little different.   I love Texas, so I would have to have a very strong reason to relocate.

During the day I am a distribution dispatcher, formerly an EMS/SCADA system analyst, for an electric utility/ transmission company.  My work here began in 1974.  I have held a number of positions during my employment at the present company.  I am currently open to all possibilities to fulfill my potential.

I graduated in 1998 with highest honors from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi  with a degree in computer science and a minor in accounting (4.0 GPA). 

I have a wife and one child that you can see on the photos pages.

Passing the Time

During the time I'm not working or studying, I like to spend time with my family, making and listening to music, church and posting messages in an e-mail group.  I enjoy playing guitar, a little violin and some piano. Most of my music time is used learning new blues riffs or finger picking on guitar or playing around with the digital piano.

My guitars are an Alvarez AD909SCK acoustic, a Fender Strat, Dean acoustic with resonator, a Gibson Lucille and a Fender Jazz Bass.   The Lucille was a graduation present to myself. I'm in the process of obtaining several new guitars and I also assist my daughter in learning to play.

SPORTS

As for sports I participate in to some degree are golf, bowling, golf, tennis, and golf.  I started bowling at the age of 6, but I don't league bowl any more.  I started playing golf about 1986 and not very good at it.   To give you an idea, I think I've broken 90 less than ten times.  

Learning Things

I recently completed a four part course of ASL (American Sign Language) with SigningOnline.com.  I enjoy learning more about ASL and someday hope to have someone to talk to using it (other than my daughter).  For now I just practice telling children's stories and reviewing the online lessons.

Computer Things

While on the internet, I enjoy the occasional chat along with shopping on ebay.

As you can also tell, I like to do a little web design.  I had a lot of fun doing this site.  It was done using Xara Xtreme, Front Page 2000 and Xara Webstyle Version 4.  It's a great product.   If you are interested in knowing more about these products, please visit my Credits page.

Radio Things

Another old interest is amateur radio, but I have not been active in that for a while.  I have been licensed since 1972.
