Today was the first time I drove my truck since last Wednesday.  Work was closed Thursday due to snow and when I went to go to work Friday my truck wouldn't start.  As near as I can tell it was either simply too cold to start or because I had let it get down to E on the gas gauge some water vapor got into the fuel line and froze.  I finally got around to fixing it today.  Had to use the forced air heater as a primitive 'block warmer', unconventional to be sure but rather fitting with all the other strange things I've done working on cars.

1-13-03 I just haven't been able to get around to scanning all the regular pictures in, resizing them and posting them here.  Here's a couple more though

12-03-03 I can't believe it's taken me this long to get around to this.  I've spent the past 2 hours re-sizing some of the wedding pictures I took.  I also had to go through my entire personal site deleting pictures so I would have enough space for the wedding pictures.  That was actually a three step process in order to get them completely off of the site.  I had to not only delete them off of the pages they were on but also delete them from the FrontPage folder and then delete them from the web site host.  Without doing all of that they'd still be taking up space on the web site even if they weren't visible.  I haven't decided exactly how I'm going to put all the pictures I've got up but here are some of the first ones.  I still have to scan in most of the ones that weren't taken with my digital camera.

Sometime in September 2003  The wedding and honeymoon went very well until we were on the way back.  My truck broke down in South Carolina.  Sounded like I lost a connecting rod so the engine is shot.  Dawn and I are home (rented a car) but my truck is still in Florence SC.  I've made arrangenments to have it shipped back but I don't know how long it's going to take, the company shipping from SC to NJ is filling up the north bound truck and everything is waiting on that.  I haven't really gone through the pictures I took and don't have any from the wedding itself but here's a nice one from the honeymoon.

Here's a few more sunsets along with one sunrise at Daytona

Moved the pictures of Dawn's rings to the top for now.

Latest Stuff:

5-23-03  Here's a pic of me at last Sundays Big Game just before the afternoon session was about to start.  I'm holding one of the nerf rockets we use in the main gun.

5-9-03  Here's a pic of Dawn from when we went to Florida last month.

This one is from when we were at Epcot

4-6-03  Here's some pics of the nearly finished War Room.  There's still some wiring both electric and network that needs to be done.  I originally set it up with 12 network drops but looking at it now and I don't think we'll be able to get more than 8 computers in there.  Hopefully we'll have a LAN party soon to break it in hahaha.

I just couldn't delete 'The MACH'

The MACH

The MACH was actually my second car and the first to be named.  I have no idea who originally started calling it 'The MACH' but it stuck.  I'm absolutely amazed sometimes that I didn't get myself killed or kill anyone else for that matter with that car.  It was a lot like the Millenium Falcon in that it looked beat to all hell and was incredibly fast, when it ran at all.  I learned how to drive a stick shift in that car which was easy in some ways because it had a 351 cleavland V-8 or a 5.7 liter in today's world.  When ever I got in a tricky spot with the clutch all I had to do was rev up the rpms into the 4000 range and pop the clutch while keeping the gas pedal down.  It's really not good for the clutch but it certainly moved and I didn't have to worry about stalling it.  Generally speaking my most insane driving was done in that car.  I got it four feet in the air once jumping a hill in Ronkonkoma and got the hang of what all my friends called 'slideways' driving in it.  Crazy Horse was my second Mustang.  It was much more dependable than The MACH and is the car that I first started venturing off of Long Island with.  Mostly to Baltimore to play Photon (type of laser Tag) but Tom Eads and I made several forays into New Jersey looking for other Photons before we found the one in Baltimore.  We took that car to a place called Kennelworth along with a ride down to Atlantic City and another a week later to Seaside Heights all in our quest to find a new Photon after they closed our in East Setaukette.

War Room!

1-10-04  I got 6 machines running on New Years eve.  Unfortunately George had to go to the Coram firehouse to help them with their New Years Party, so we were only able to get 5 players at any one time.  Still looking for a case for bishop.

I've had to remove many of the War Room pictures to make room for the wedding pictures.

6-2-03  I got 5 machines running the night of George's birthday, although we never had more than four running together.  I didn't get the 5th one up and running until after 2:00 am.

I kept some of the older pictures to show how things have changed.

This last set was taken by my little pc camera way back before we started building any of the War Room at all,  back when we just played Command & Conquer on some tables with our old K6-2 pcs'.  There were only 4 of us and the fastest machine was a K6-2/350

Extra War Room rig: ABIT KT7/Duron 700@800, 128m PC133, 32m RIVA TNT2, generic 16 bit sound, D-link 10/100 nic, 14" generic monitor, Raider Pro Joystick,

Bishop/Case-less War Room rig: ABIT KT7A/T-bird 1400-266, 256m PC133, 32m GeFoce2 Pro, still being worked on but it does boot.

Dawn S.:  ABIT KT7A/T-bird 1400-266, 256m PC133, 32m GeFoce2 Pro,  S/B 128pci sound, D-link 10/100 nic, 17" NEC monitor, MS SideWinder Precision 2 Joystick, Swiftech MC462-A HSF, generic 300 psu

George recently managed to get his neighbor Rob hooked on MS combat flight simulator so he should be joining us soon.

Upgrades: Still hoping to get another 1400 T-bird for Karissa's rig, I might upgrade mine to an Athlon XP and give her mine.  Need to get one more Enermax 350 for Dawns rig.  Thinking about getting George a SB Live! X-Gamer.  I'm also thinking about getting additional 20" and 17" monitors for the War Room so Dawn and I don't have to lug our monitors to George's house.

Battlebot!

So far this is nothing more than wishful thinking on my part.  I have found something to use as the wheels of my 'bot.  Semi-secret of course but they should work great!  Of course they go with the bigger is better mentality of my friends and I.  I'm really going to have trouble getting this thing inside of the weight limits.  I really have to find a source of titanium and a way of working with the stuff.  I just don't have enough to do what I want and I really need the weight advantage the stuff gives (the shear toughness of titanium doesn't hurt either!).  This is all just talk and sketches on paper right now but that is exactly how the tank started.  It may take me three years but I will build this thing!  Someday I'm hoping to get us on TLC's Junkyard Wars!

OTHER INTERESTS:

Reading, mostly science fiction but also fantasy and a bit of horror.  I have a deep interest in space exploration and the science of immortality.  I highly recommend the "Immortality how science is extending your life and changing the world" by Dr. Ben Bova on this subject.  My hobbies are computers, writing, origami and model making.  Other activities I enjoy but can't support financially right now are the study of martial arts (primarily Kung Fu), SCUBA diving, Flying (I only have 10 hours of flight time), Fencing (there's actually a place in Farmingdale) and of course Paintball.  Some stuff I enjoy and can actually afford but don't seem to have the time or enough discipline for are bicycling and weight training

I really miss playing with the Timberwolves the 6 month sabbatical away from paintball I planned is now entering it's third year!  The wolves have been to the World cup in Florida twice in that time!  Sometimes it really bothers me but what can you do?  I will be playing a bit this year one way or another!
