When I was a little kid my Father used to get me little Control line planes from a near by Woolco Dept. store.
We would fly them and have lots of fun but we always wanted something that would fly better.
Soon we discovered that when you build from a kit they are lighter and fly better. We started out with some like
the Lil Wizard and Stuntman and eventually got into building bigger control line planes like the Banshee and Mongoose.
We enjoyed these for a very long time, but one day my Dad thought about R/C. We got a plane and he spent all his
free time building it for us.
We finally finnished it, We went to fly it and my Dad was doing a great job, he took it right off and was flying
it around but a big storm came up from out of nowhere and blew it away. By some mirracle we found it. It was destroyed.
That ended R/C for a while, and we just flew C/L.
Latter when I was big enough to do things for money I bought a Midwest Das Bipe Stick, I at first built it as control
line but in the end I turned it into R/C which is what it was supposed to be in the first place.
It flew absolutely fantastic but I wasnt ready for such a manuverable plane and soon crashed it.
It was sugested to me to get a trainer, so I did and so I learned on a Great Planes 60 size Trainer.
Now it is about 30 years latter and I still dont fly all that well but at least Im out of the stage of crashing
do to dumb desisions in flight. Although I did crash my Sopwith Pup a couple of years ago just because I turned down wind
and wasnt throttled up enough for that. I guess that was dumb.
I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures I post. and sorry but I dont have a picture of the plane my Dad built, I really
wish I did because he worked so hard on it and it was the one that got me into this anyway. Im not possitive but I think it
was a Falcon.
